Dr. Anand Narain Singh

Research Supervisor

As our experienced Research Supervisor, Dr. Singh is a fundamental part of what makes Searel Lab such a successful Research Lab in the fields of Plant Ecology and Restoration Ecology. Being the Principal Investigator, he is truly an invaluable member of our hardworking team. Currently, Dr. Singh holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Amandeep Kaur

Senior Research Fellow

Amandeep Kaur is one of the most senior members of our group. Her research interests focus the species interaction and weed-crop interactions in the agroecosystem. She has intensively explored the interactions of wheat crop with common weeds using functional traits.

Abhishek Kumar

Senior Research Fellow

The reputation of Abhishek Kumar came to us with an impressive background. He has since become a valued SRF on our team, adding important insights into our work. After completing post-graduation from the Department of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh, he joined us in 2017. His research interests include the responses of ecological structure and functions to climate change, and he is currently working on the elevational pattern of plant distributions and diversity in the Siwalik Ecosystem.

Meenu Patil

Senior Research Fellow

Meenu Patil has an incredible dedication to the research work. She has already made invaluable contributions to our research goals. After completing her M.Sc. in Botany (Hons.) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, she has joined us in 2018. Her research interests focus the nutrient cycling in tropical forests and currently she is investigating the role of phosphorus and mycorrhiza in litter decomposability traits of the Indian Siwaliks.

Pardeep Kumar

Senior Research Fellow

Pardeep Kumar is truly an important member of our laborious team. He did his post-graduation from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and joined us in 2018. His primary interests are floristic explorations, ecosystem ecology, and biodiversity conservation. As a part of his Ph.D., he is working on ecological assessment and carbon sequestration potential of grass flora of the lower Siwalik region.

Diksha Tokas

Junior Research Fellow

Diksha Tokas has completed her M.Sc. in Botany (Honors) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and joined the lab in 2019. Her basic interests include plant exploration and crop-weed ecology. Currently, she is working on agroecosystem dynamics and alterations in response to pesticides.

Rajni Yadav

Junior Research Fellow

Rajni Yadav joined us in 2019 after completing her post-graduation from the Department of Botany, Panjab University. She is particularly interested in statistical ecology and ecological modeling. Currently, she is working on the roles of pesticides in the lower Siwalik agroecosystems.

Sabir Hussain

Junior Research Fellow

Sabir Hussain graduated from Govt. Degree College, Kargil and completed his post-graduation in Botany from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand. He is truly an invaluable member of our hardworking team since 2019. His interests primarily include ecosystem ecology and currently, assessing the ecosystem services and multi-functionality of Kargil region.

Sheenu Sharma

Junior Research Fellow

Sheenu Sharma is a recent addition to the team as she joined us very recently in 2019. She holds a Master's degree in Botany from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Her primary research interests include ecosystem ecology of the urban environments.
